About Us
Quetglas Law Office, PSC is a specialized law firm that devotes most of its practice to represent plaintiffs in civil action litigation in the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, and claimants in securities arbitration before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”).
In 1986, José F. Quetglas Alvarez (R.I.P.), and his sons, José and Eric Quetglas-Jordán, commenced a partnership for the practice under the name of Quetglas Law Office of law devoted mostly to civil federal litigation.
Eric Quetglas-Jordan did his BA in Psychology at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), March 26, 1982; Dean’s Honors List Spring & Fall 1981. His academic experiences at UCLA broadened his educational horizon and allowed him to learn, compete and succeed in a very highly competitive multicultural academic environment. After graduation, Eric Quetglas-Jordan returned to Puerto Rico to study law and obtained a Juris Doctor, University of Puerto Rico School of Law, June 9, 1985. After receiving his JD, he was referred by the then Dean of the Law School, Antonio Garcia-Padilla, Esq., without solicitation, to work as a Law Clerk assigned to the Office of the PR Supreme Court Chief Justice, Jose Trias-Monge (R.I.P. 2003). Trias-Monge is considered one of the top PR Supreme Court’s Justices and jurist and has published opinions considered to be masterful. After Justice Trias-Monge’s resignation he came to work for most of the other Supreme Court Justices until the next Chief Justice was appointed and occupied his post. During that time, he remained assigned to the Office of the Chief Justice but rendered services, among other Justices, to Francisco Rebollo-López, Federico Hernández-Denton, Antonio S. Negrón-García, Carlos Irizarry-Yunqué (R.I.P. 2015), Peter Ortiz-Gustafson. Thereafter, on late 1985, when Chief Justice Victor Pons (R.I.P. 1992) occupied his post, he came to work for him until he resigned on late 1986 to start his private practice of law.
In 2014, attorney Eric Quetglas-Jordan organized his own firm under Quetglas Law Office, P.S.C. (“QLO”), and José Quetglas-Jordan organized his own firm under Quetglas Law Firm, P.S.C. Attorney Marieli Quetglas-Jordan also has her own separate law practice. Albeit separate, these Firms regularly join their services and resources when needed to handle complex or high-volume legal matters.
In the year 2015, Eric Quetglas-Jordan’s daughter, Myrthia Quetglas-Larrauri, and Eric Quetglas-Jordan’s son, Eric F. Quetglas-Larrauri, joined QLO after they obtained their JD’s from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. On 2020, Eric F. Quetglas-Larrauri obtained a Human Rights focused LL.M. from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston.
QLO devotes most of its legal services to federal civil practice, to represent Plaintiffs in actions for civil Personal Injury, securities actions, class actions and Complex Litigation cases.
Eric Quetglas-Jordán and Eric F. Quetglas Larrauri are also non-public FINRA arbitrators. Since 2014, QLO has devoted a greater part of its legal practice to handle arbitrations before FINRA representing customers against UBS and other Broker Dealers for Securities’ Laws violations.
In the federal civil area, attorneys QLO has successfully handled cases in Motor Vehicle Collisions, Premise Liability, Product Liability, Mass Tort, Class Actions, civil Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), violations of federal Securities Laws, Antirust and Civil Rights.
In the federal criminal area, QLO has successfully handled numerous cases involving Organized Crime and White-Collar offenses.
In arbitration, QLO has successfully represented hundreds of claimants Broker Dealers, that include, among other, Popular Securities LLC, Santander Securities, LLC, BS Financial Services Incorporated of Puerto Rico, and UBS Financial Services, Inc.
